Coleby + Brittany | A Lincoln Memorial Proposal | Washington, D.C.

It was love at first sight. They met at a friend’s get together a year and a half ago, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. And by the end of their first date on a cold December evening at Austin’s Trail of Lights , Coleby knew that one day he would marry her. This past Sunday he asked her just that.

My brother-in-law just moved to Pennsylvania for a new job a few weeks ago, and Brittany JUST drove there from Texas this week to begin their new adventures in a different state. Coleby knew he wanted to propose, and he thought what better place during the 4th of July weekend than one of America’s most iconic memorials! They both haven’t been to the monuments in DC, so Coleby planned on a couple’s session to throw her off. So sneaky! She had no idea he had WAY more in store 😉

“During the beginning of the photo shoot, I had NO idea that he would be proposing. I thought it was sweet that Coleby was so willing and happy about taking pictures with me.  As soon as he got down on one knee I thought he was joking…. But when I saw the BEAUTIFUL ring and he asked “Will you marry me?” I started crying because I was so overjoyed. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve dreamed of what the day would look like and how he would ask. And Coleby made all of my childhood dreams become reality.” -Brittany

“I was feeling really nervous and in love. I was gazing in her eyes knowing that she would say yes. I was so anxious to hurry up and ask. I was so happy when she said yes, and now I’m so excited to start the rest of our lives together as husband and wife.” -Coleby

Right before he pops the questions. At this point, she has NO idea she’s about to exchange that promise ring on her finger for an engagement ring!
