If you’re a photographer, chances are you probably have a favorite lens you love shooting with. One of my favorite lenses to shoot with is my Canon Macro 100mm f/2.8L lens. This lens was the first of the L series I purchased, and boy, I was not disappointed. There are so many reasons why I love shooting with this lens, and here are my top two reasons why this lens comes with me to every photo session!

1. The sharpness of the “close-up”. This lens is a must have for me when it comes to wedding details and engagement ring shots. The crispness and clarity of this lens helps bring what I vision in my head to life. The bokeh that you receive is smooth and creamy, and really helps the subject of the photo pop!

2. It’s also a portrait lens! This baby also has a second use, and I love the look and feel of the images that come from it. At engagement sessions when shooting the engagement ring, there’s times where I see a beautiful moment between my couple, and sometimes I won’t have time to switch up lenses. This macro produces that creamy and airy feel that I love! Plus, it’s light weight so your arms won’t feel tired or heavy after an afternoon of shooting 🙂
