Shelbie + Nathan’s Angel Springs Event Center wedding was one I’ve been looking forward to all year! Back when I photographed their engagement session at their wedding venue, I couldn’t stop smiling. The way Nathan looked at Shelbie, the way these two just melted in each other’s arms, how they couldn’t stop smooching, and how they talked about their big day with excitement and joy, I knew it would be one to remember. Back track to how they met, Shelbie met Nathan while working at Chick-Fil-A back in high school. Nathan was about to start his new job as an airline pilot and Shelbie was about to graduate. He came in to see his brother who was her manager at CFA. They locked eyes from across the room and instantly connected. Their went on their first date the next day and the rest is history!
Their proposal story is definitely out of a fairy tale! Shelbie + Nathan both love to travel the world, and since he’s a pilot they have some awesome travel benefits! They flew first class to Switzerland where he took Shelbie out to the sweetest little French coffee shop. They sat and talked and enjoyed each other’s company for a bit, and then he suggested they go up to the studio apartment to watch the sunset 🙂 Little did Shelbie know, the apartment had a secret ladder leading to a rooftop terrace (dreamy)! It was lit with candles and had pictures of them hung everywhere. Nathan go on one knee proposing to Shelbie as the sun set over Zurich Switzerland. He even had a photographer to capture it!
Fast forward to their wedding day, and everything was just perfect, even the RAIN! They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, and I truly believe it 🙂 Their wedding was just absolutely perfect, from the personally written vows that left everyone in tears, their romantic rainy wedding day portraits, the emotional and hilarious speeches, to their FUN and LIVELY reception, their wedding was one for the books. One of my favorite trends is a private “last dance” between the bride and groom. Shelbie + Nathan incorporated just this, and I had to hide behind my camera from tears. What a perfect way to end the night!
