1 tip that Brides might be forgetting

It’s the biggest day of your life. Most of you have been dreaming of this day with the love of your life for a long time. Lots of planning and preparation goes into a wedding; so much so that, sometimes, certain things can be forgotten. There are tons of articles and blogs out there that will help you with tips, tricks, and ideas for your big day. My friend and fellow wedding photographer Anna Kardos just recently wrote a great blog post about tips on styling your “getting ready” photos.  So helpful!!

One of my favorite moments on a wedding day is when the bride sees her prince charming for the first time- walking down the aisle to her best friend-soul mate-love of her life, locking eyes and knowing they are about to embark on the biggest journey of their lives. Capturing that moment is vital to me, on a professional level, as well as a deeper, more personal one. I don’t have a single photo of my father walking me down the aisle to Jereme back in 2010, or a single photo of me walking down the aisle PERIOD. Learning from my experience, I try to capture that moment the best I can. And brides, you can help!!

One tip that I would love to give brides is this:

Remember to SMILE while you’re walking down the aisle 🙂

I know! Such a simple tip, but so beneficial! 🙂

There have been moments where the ceremony looked gorgeous, the bride looked absolutely breathtaking, she’s so incredibly happy, yet you weren’t able to tell on her face. Maybe she’s not smiling because she’s walking down a few steps first. Maybe because she’s farther away and doesn’t think her groom can see her yet on that long aisle. Maybe she’s just super-duper nervous with all eyes on her (I sure was!). The ceremony space, your beautiful dress, and your photos will pop that much more just by simply smiling, even just a teensy bit. Look who’s down there waiting patiently for you. Aren’t you feeling like the luckiest woman in the world? Let that emotion shine through your eyes, your face, your soul. You’ll be so grateful you did after looking at your photos.
