5 Portrait Locations on my Wish List | Washington, D.C. + Northern Virginia

I’ve been living in Northern Virginia now for 3 1/2 years, and I’ve been blessed to photograph at some AMAZING and historical locations; National monuments, gorgeous hillsides, charming historical towns just to name a few. And while I’ve loved being able to work at these beautiful areas, there are others that have caught my eye. So, I’m sharing with you 5 locations in the Washington D.C. + Northern VA area that I’m dying to photograph at!

 1. Meadowlark Botanical Gardens

– Vienna, Virginia – During the summer when my parents came to visit from Texas, we went on a little afternoon visit to this park and I fell in love! This 95 acre botanical garden is filled with colorful floral gardens, ponds, and walking trails. It’s also super quite and peaceful, so privacy during our session will make it all the better.

2. U.S. National Arboretum

– Washington, D.C. – This little gem has been on my radar for quite some time. From the beautiful Corinthian columns, to the beautiful gardens, this gorgeous location would be the perfect location for an anniversary session or engagement session.

3. Vineyards

Northern VA – Stone Tower Winery, Breux Winery, Paradise Springs Winery, or The Winery at Bull Run, each one of these, and MORE, are absolutely breathtaking. I’ve visited a few for anniversary parties and social gatherings, but I can’t wait to bring my future couples to these!

4. The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery

-Washington, D.C. – The history, the location, the light!! If you’re looking for an indoor option for an anniversary or sweetheart session, let’s go!

5. Meridian Hill Park

-Washington, D.C. – This beauty is smack in the middle of Washington, D.C., with gorgeous architecture and stunning fountains. Do you want stunning light and beautiful landscapes for your session without leaving the city, let’s go!

If you’re planning your engagement, anniversary, or sweetheart session and need a few ideas for a charming location, let’s head to one of these!
